The Petalite Self-Powered Safety Bicycle Pedals are a great example of simple, but highly practical innovation. The award-winning pedals light up as you cycle along the road, except that they don’t need any batteries! The Petalite pedals replace your existing bicycle pedals to give you a battery-free and maintenance-free safety light system for your bike.

The Petalite 360 degree visibility pedals harvest energy as the pedals rotate whilst you are cycling. There’s a tiny dynamo within the pedal that is able to flash the pedal lights as you cycle and will continue to flash for up to 5 minutes after you’ve stopped pedaling. Impressively, the pedal lights can be seen from up to half a mile away (around 800 meters).

The pedals come with the usual features you’d expect from standard bicycle pedals too, such as front and rear reflectors, a non-slip surface, and supergroup studs.
